Coaching

Individualized Telephone Training

Six Seconds Coaching is a training process where we work individually with clients helping them to reach their highest potential individually and as team members. The process improves:

  • Leadership Effectiveness
  • Team Performance
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Change Management

Every coaching engagement is customized to individual and organization needs and requirements. We offer insights from our perspective as emotional intelligence specialists, share models and data to help clients consider new options, and ask compelling questions to help move them to action. The objective is to assist clients to make specific, actionable changes to improve performance.

Each coaching engagement typically incorporates assessment tools. Our preferred tool for emotional intelligence development is called the SEI, Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Assessment, a statistically reliable, web-based self-assessment. It provides a picture of the client's emotional intelligence (EQ) at this moment in time together with many suggestions for development. Starting with the SEI gives clients a structure to discuss the current work and life situation and provides a springboard for concrete action.

Each coaching engagement results in a personal development plan for the client. Through regular coaching calls, assessments and other resources that support the client's unique needs, our coaches monitor progress against objectives set in the plan and the organization's desired outcomes. Typically the process lasts four to 12 weeks with a minimum of three to six calls.

Our seasoned business coaches provide personalized, highly focused sessions to help clients review the current goals and priorities, assess progress, and identify both obstacles and opportunities for continued improvement. The client leaves each coaching session with several specific strategies and practices to implement.

This coaching process is totally confidential. If an organization is investing in the coaching, they may participate in defining the goals/objectives of the process, and receive an update about the number of coaching sessions completed, general progress, and the agreed-upon action items. The coach will not share personal specifics nor assessment results unless that is agreed upon in advance.

What's Unique About IOP Coaches?

Our coaches have a deep understanding of emotional intelligence and have worked in this field for 5-15 years.

They are great at asking questions and they are totally supportive of the client's genuine commitment.

They are incredibly insightful, but they keep their opinions to themselves unless the client asks.

They are honest, caring, and they have a good sense of humor.

Most of all they are committed to practising the skills of emotional intelligence and supporting clients to do the same.

Our coaches use Six Seconds' powerful EQ-In-Action model to help clients develop and apply emotional intelligence.
