Each coaching engagement typically incorporates assessment tools. Our preferred tool for emotional intelligence development is called the SEI, Six Seconds Emotional Intelligence Assessment, a statistically reliable, web-based self-assessment. It provides a picture of the client's emotional intelligence (EQ) at this moment in time together with many suggestions for development. Starting with the SEI gives clients a structure to discuss the current work and life situation and provides a springboard for concrete action.
Each coaching engagement results in a personal development plan for the client. Through regular coaching calls, assessments and other resources that support the client's unique needs, our coaches monitor progress against objectives set in the plan and the organization's desired outcomes. Typically the process lasts four to 12 weeks with a minimum of three to six calls.
Our seasoned business coaches provide personalized, highly focused sessions to help clients review the current goals and priorities, assess progress, and identify both obstacles and opportunities for continued improvement. The client leaves each coaching session with several specific strategies and practices to implement.
This coaching process is totally confidential. If an organization is investing in the coaching, they may participate in defining the goals/objectives of the process, and receive an update about the number of coaching sessions completed, general progress, and the agreed-upon action items. The coach will not share personal specifics nor assessment results unless that is agreed upon in advance.
